As part of activities marking her 30th anniversary, Queen Mother Naa Kwaatsoo II of Gbawe-Sakumono, Mallam in the Greater Accra Region organized a free health screening exercise at the Mallam Main Lorry Station on Saturday, October 11, 2025. The initiative aimed to promote community health and wellness, especially among residents in underserved areas.
One of the key partners supporting the event was the Auntie Linda Foundation, an award-winning non-governmental organization (NGO) renowned for its commitment to HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and support. The Foundation offered free HIV testing services, giving hundreds of community members the opportunity to know their status in a safe and confidential setting. In addition, the team distributed free condoms and provided counseling and education on HIV prevention, stigma reduction, and positive living for persons with HIV.
Speaking to mrwoodgh.com, Linda Ewoenam Donkor (Auntie Linda), founder of the Auntie Linda Foundation, highlighted the importance of regular testing and awareness in combating HIV. She encouraged the public to get tested routinely, practice safe sex, and seek medical care if they test positive.
Queen Mother Naa Kwaatsoo II expressed heartfelt appreciation to all partners, especially the Auntie Linda Foundation, for their support in advancing her vision of a healthier and stronger community.
“This is not just a celebration of my 30 years as Queen Mother, but a reaffirmation of my commitment to the wellbeing of my people,” she stated.
The event attracted large numbers of residents, including market women, drivers, and youth groups, who actively participated in the screening and health education sessions.
The Auntie Linda Foundation remains a beacon of hope in Ghana’s public health landscape, championing HIV/AIDS education, prevention, and community outreach initiatives across the country.
